Army Chief of Staff Fired by Hegseth Amid Personnel Changes

U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George was fired by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, sources confirmed on Thursday. The Pentagon stated that George, who had over a year remaining in his term, will be retiring immediately. Hegseth has also dismissed General David Hodne and Major General William Green as part of a significant overhaul in the Pentagon’s senior ranks. This leadership change occurs during heightened military operations in the Middle East, affecting the approximately 450,000 active-duty soldiers in the Army.
