Salmonella Outbreak from Mexican Jalapenos Sickens 345 in U.S.

A multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeno peppers from Mexico has sickened 345 individuals across 27 states, according to the CDC and FDA. The outbreak led to 36 hospitalizations, but no deaths have been reported. A recall of affected products was initiated, and eateries like Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) have switched suppliers, beginning July 20. The FDA states there is no ongoing risk to consumers from these establishments regarding the outbreak.
