Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, announced he will not stand for re-election to Microsoft's (MSFT) board of directors during the 2026 annual shareholder meeting. Hoffman has been on the board since 2017 and will remain until the meeting. Microsoft stated that his decision was not related to any disagreement with company executives. In a significant acquisition, Microsoft purchased LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in 2016, which was its largest deal at that time, and LinkedIn has since grown to over 1.3 billion members.
