Diwali Foundation Distributes Over 23,000 Hampers to UK Families in Need
The Diwali Foundation organized its ninth Diwali Basket Brigade event in Birmingham, where about 300 volunteers packed food parcels for people facing rising living costs. The event took place at the RSRS Centre in Hockley and involved community volunteers from diverse backgrounds. The charity highlighted that more than 12% of UK households experience food poverty. The foundation works with around forty food banks and charities to supply vulnerable families. To date, it has distributed approximately 23,470 food hampers to those in need. This effort aims to bring relief and hope during the religious festival of Diwali amid ongoing economic challenges. For ordinary individuals, this means some families will receive essential food support despite the broader cost of living pressures.
