Carlyle Acquires Majority Stake in MAI Capital for $2.8bn

Carlyle-managed funds have finalized the acquisition of a controlling stake in MAI Capital Management for over $2.8 billion. Initially announced in March, this purchase enables Carlyle to focus on technology investments and future acquisitions at MAI. The management team at MAI will remain operationally independent, and staff will retain a significant minority equity stake. MAI manages approximately $77.3 billion in client assets and has over 40 offices across the U.S., employing more than 700 people.
