Bitmine Acquires $81M in Ethereum, Aims for 5% Ownership

Bitmine Immersion Technologies has purchased 32,447 ETH for approximately $81 million, moving closer to its goal of owning 5% of Ethereum's total supply. As of August 23, the company holds 5,847,611 ETH, valued at around $15 billion. With Ethereum's total supply at about 120.7 million tokens, Bitmine is 187,000 ETH short of its target. The recent purchase coincides with a 31.5% surge in Ethereum's price over the past week, outperforming Bitcoin's nearly 24% increase, which could influence investor decisions for Bitmine (BMNR).
