Bharti Airtel (BHARTIARTL) Raises $1 Billion for Nxtra Data Centers
Bharti Airtel (BHARTIARTL) has raised $1 billion for its data center arm, Nxtra Data, from private equity firms including Alpha Wave, Carlyle, and Anchorage Capital. This raise will value Nxtra Data at approximately $3.1 billion upon closing. The investment includes $435 million from Alpha Wave, $240 million from Carlyle, and $35 million from Anchorage Capital, with Airtel contributing the remaining amount. Nxtra has around 300MW of data center capacity, aiming to scale to 1GW and capture nearly 25% market share amid growing demand for data centers in India.
