Alstom Secures £370M Contract for Battery-Electric Train Fleet

Alstom is set to build a new fleet of battery-electric trains to support the Transpennine Route Upgrade. The UK Department for Transport (DfT) stated that the new fleet will enhance capacity by 30%, providing thousands of additional seats daily across the Pennines by the early to mid-2030s.
