Somerset Council Receives £20M Fund for Crisis Heating Support

Somerset Council has been allocated over £20 million from the Department for Work and Pensions to establish the Crisis Resilience Fund over the next three years. This funding aims to support families struggling to afford heating and food, particularly those reliant on oil heating. An additional £1.2 million will be available specifically for heating oil. The allocation via Citizens Advice Somerset allows families to apply directly for immediate financial assistance, which will improve financial support services in the community.
