OpenAI's Revenue in July Exceeds Q2 Total, CFO Announces

OpenAI's annualized recurring revenue in July surpassed the entire amount from Q2, according to CFO Sarah Friar. The momentum was attributed to the release of the GPT-5.6 series and growth in enterprise adoption. In February, OpenAI projected targeting around $600 billion in total compute spending by 2030 and is discussing a backstop of up to $250 billion with Nvidia for a new data center. This rapid revenue growth is crucial as OpenAI positions itself against competition from Anthropic, which recently reported a revenue run rate exceeding $47 billion.
