EDF Extends Sizewell B Nuclear Plant Lifespan by 20 Years

EDF has secured an agreement with the UK government to extend the operational life of Sizewell B until 2055, adding 20 years to its initial end date of 2035. This nuclear power plant, which began operations in 1995, currently provides energy to over two million homes and represents 3% of the UK's energy supply. The deal will involve approximately £800 million in investments and help safeguard 900 jobs, according to EDF's station director.
