Drop-off Fees at UK Airports Rise 33% Since Last Summer

Drop-off fees at major UK airports have increased by 33% on average since last summer, with 16 out of 20 busiest airports raising their charges. Gatwick and Stansted are the highest at £10 for drop-offs, with Gatwick charging this for just 10 minutes. London City Airport's new charge of £8 for five minutes results in a rate of £1.60 per minute, marking it the most expensive on a per-minute basis. This price increase aims to encourage public transport use in line with climate change objectives, as congestion and air pollution are concerns for local communities.
