A French-owned container ship operated by CMA CGM has successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz, the first major vessel from a Western European firm to do so since the US-Israeli war with Iran began, which had largely closed the route. Tracking data indicated it hugged the coast of Oman, where it passed safely, as reported by maritime analysts Kpler. The conflict has caused shipping activity to decline by approximately 95%, with about 200 vessels stranded in adjoining waters. Notably, a Japanese ship carrying natural gas also navigated the strait, with safety confirmations from MOL.
