TFG Plans 180 Store Closures Over Next Three Years

The Foschini Group (TFG) has announced plans to close 180 additional stores over the next three financial years to enhance profitability and efficiency. This follows a warning in June about closing at least 100 underperforming locations while reviewing another 300. TFG closed 85 stores that were unprofitable during the 21 weeks ended August 22, 2026, while opening 25 new locations. The company reported a net reduction of nine stores, ending fiscal 2026 with 4,914 stores, down from 4,923 the previous year. The closures signify a strategic shift towards digital sales and more efficient use of physical retail space.
